This Gen 2.5 coffee grinder builds on the original DF64 and Gen 2 platform with practical updates, heavy-duty metal construction and enough adjustment freedom to keep your inner coffee nerd thoroughly entertained.

Turin DF64 - Serious Burrs Unserious Amounts of Coffee Enthusiasm

Weigh your beans, grind your dose and use the bellows to help clear the chamber. The low-retention design minimizes grounds left inside the chamber and chute, helping reduce stale coffee carryover and purging. With single dosing and bellows use, the supplier describes typical retention as a fraction of a gram. Low retention, yes. A legally binding promise that every speck will obey you, no.

Gen 2.5 Updates That Actually Matter

The Turin DF64 Gen 2.5 features a redesigned inner chute with ion-generator probes wrapping around it. This plasma/ion system reduces static buildup, clumping and escaped grounds. An integrated anti-popcorn device helps manage beans during grinding. The straightforward design avoids unnecessary components, while the sturdy metal body supports daily use. Small refinements may occur between shipments.

Latest-version accessory notice: The current version comes with a black dosing cup and silicone wedge, plus a slightly updated base. Older videos and photos may show a silver cup and dosing collar; the silver cup and dosing collar are not included with the latest version. Older specifications reference a 58mm aluminum cup and direct dosing with a collar. Follow the latest-version contents rather than treating those older accessories as promised inclusions.

Pick Your Burr Personality

The Turin DF64 uses 64mm stainless steel flat burrs as the standard setup, with stock geometry intended for espresso and drip. The original information also describes DLC-coated burrs with the same geometry and aftermarket options including Mazzer and SSP. Select only the configuration actually offered for your chosen variant.

SSP High Uniformity burrs emphasize mouthfeel, intense espresso and balanced flavors with floral or fruity notes. SSP Multi Purpose, MP or Unimodal burrs emphasize clarity for espresso and pour-over. Your beans still get a vote; burrs are not tiny flavor wizards. SSP burrs ordered with the grinder are supplied separately, not installed; the supplier states these orders ship with stainless steel burrs installed.

Stepless Adjustment Without the Click-Stop Compromise

The Turin DF64 offers continuous stepless grind adjustment between its finest and coarsest settings. Dial labels are references, not commandments: fine-tune for your beans and brew method. Grind for espresso, pour-over, V60, siphon, cold brew, French press and drip.
